The Battle of Sekigahara is the most famous Battle of the Samurai and Japan. The battle was one of the largest ever fought and secured the position of the Tokugawa government until the late 19th century. Almost 200,000 soldiers fought on the field that and the defeat of the Ishida ended the reign of the warring states of Japan. Some of the best warriors of the day fought and died in this decisive battle. This is one of two commemorative Samurai Katana of this battle. Also, included with the sword is full sized poster depicting the battle. The sword includes a FREE table top stand and 38'' x 16'' Poster. Attributes of the Weapon: -Blade: The blade of the sword is 440 stainless steel with a visible temper line along the edge of the blade. Imprinted into the steel of the blade is a detailed dragon on one side and a sword on the other. The sword comes already sharpened. -Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a black high gloss lacquer finish. Wrapped around the upper half of the scabbard is a tan cotton sageo. The scabbard throat is blackened steel. -Guard: The guard begins with a blackened steel blade collar. The actual guard is a square design with a sun style cut out. The guard ends in a steel fitting holding the guard to the handle of the sword. -Handle: The handle of the sword is wrapped in imitation ray skin and recovered with a tan cotton wrap. Along each side of the handle is a steel pin molded like dragon. The pommel of the handle is a steel cap securing the wrapping of the handle.
